Chiko Swiney

Chiko Swiney is an attorney with CopperPoint Insurance Companies and a certified Worker’s Compensation Specialist. The focus of her practice is Worker's Compensation litigation and has argued cases at the Arizona Court of Appeals.

Chiko obtained her Master’s degree in International Trade Law from the University of Arizona James E. Roger’s College of Law in 1999. She worked for the Pima County Public Defender’s office as a public defender for seven years, representing indigent clients. During that time, she volunteered in the Lawyer’s for Literacy program. She moved to Phoenix in 2006.

She served on the board of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central & Northern Arizona from 2016 to 2022. She was chair of the board in 2021. She has been involved with the Ronald McDonald House since 2007. She organizes and volunteers with the CopperPoint dinner service group called “the BigMacs.” The group serves dinner once per month to families staying at the house while their children are undergoing medical treatment in Phoenix.

Chiko has served as a Commissioner on the board of Phoenix Sister Cities since 2017 and is the immediate past chair. The mission of Phoenix Sister Cities it to foster relationships between the people of Phoenix and its sister cities around the world to promote friendship, peace and prosperity.

Between 2019-2020, she participated in the Valley Leadership program and is a proud member of Class 41.

Chiko has two wonderful adult children. She loves to travel, meet new people, learn about and experience other cultures and has lived on three continents.

Kindness, love and a cultivating a giving spirit are very important to her.
